Exion
Procedures

How Does Exion Work?
Exion works by stimulating the body’s natural collagen and elastin production process. Microneedling, RF and ultrasound methods are combined together for an advanced, effective approach.
The RF energy heats the deeper layers of the skin, while microneedling creates controlled micro-injuries in the skin’s surface. These precise micro-injuries trigger the body’s natural healing response to achieve skin-tightening and renewing effects further.
With another innovative step, the Exion device uses active cooling to protect the skin, while allowing for an increased temperature in the fat tissues. This helps to achieve fat cell apoptosis.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Suitable Candidates for Exion
Exion can be a suitable treatment choice for those who want to tighten skin and target fat cells without a surgical method.
Ideally, candidates should be in good general health and should not have any active skin conditions (such as eczema or skin infections) in the treatment area.
As a precautionary measure, Exion is generally not recommended for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Indications for Exion
Exion microneedling is used for skin tightening for multiple indications.
Most notably on the face and neck for the treatment of skin laxity and fine lines which are a common problem after weight loss, due to sun damage or simply from ageing change.
Exion is also applicable in some instances for skin laxity elsewhere such as localised stretch marks after pregnancy on the abdomen and breasts or laxity in the upper inner arm.
How is the Exion Treatment Performed?
Before your treatment, your skin will need to be carefully cleansed and prepped. You’ll need to remove any jewellery or metallic accessories, as well as any clothing in the treatment area.
To perform the treatment, the Exion device is used to carefully penetrate the skin with microneedles, while simultaneously delivering RF and ultrasound energy. The device uses active cooling to protect the skin throughout the process, but you may feel some slight warmth or a minor prickling sensation.
Depending on your goals, we may recommend undergoing multiple treatment sessions to work towards the results you want to achieve. We can discuss how your personalised treatment plan may look during your consultation.
What is the Aftercare for Exion?
Aftercare following an Exion treatment is quite minimal, but you may experience some mild redness, discomfort or swelling for a few days. Patients can typically resume their daily routine as normal.
To support your skin as it heals, we recommend using gentle skincare products and avoiding harsh exfoliants or active ingredients. Once the area has healed, you should protect the treated skin with a high SPF sunscreen and keep the skin hydrated with a light moisturiser.
