At Allure Clinic, A/Prof Mark Magnusson offers dedicated Breast Implant Health Check appointments for patients who wish to review their implant status, discuss any concerns, or have their implants assessed following years in place.
Patients are welcome regardless of where their original surgery was performed.
Implant-related concerns can develop years after surgery, and early changes are not always obvious. Breast implants are not lifetime devices, and the likelihood of certain complications increases with implant age. Monitoring may be appropriate even when you feel well and have no symptoms.
You may consider arranging an appointment if you have noticed: — Changes in size, shape, or firmness — Pain or discomfort — New or unexplained swelling — Suspected rupture — Implants that have been in place for a long time
Silicone implant rupture can be difficult to detect by feel alone, as the gel may remain contained within the surrounding tissue capsule. In some cases, rupture is only identified through imaging - which is why ultrasound can be a helpful component of a clinical assessment.
