exion - Allure Cosmetic Clinic

Exion by BTL is a non-invasive treatment platform that offers four different modalities for the face and body. These treatments use technology designed to target specific skin and tissue concerns. Suitability and potential outcomes vary, and will be discussed with you during a consultation with a medical practitioner.

How Does Exion Work?

Exion works by using advanced radiofrequency (RF) energy, sometimes combined with targeted ultrasound, to gently heat the skin at precise depths. This controlled thermal energy stimulates your body’s natural healing response, triggering the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. These are the key building blocks that keep skin firm, smooth, and hydrated.

For fractional treatments, microneedling with RF creates tiny microchannels in the skin while delivering energy deep below the surface. This enhances cellular renewal and remodels the skin’s structure for long-lasting improvements.

The technology is AI-controlled, meaning it automatically adjusts energy delivery in real time to ensure comfort, precision, and optimal results. Treatments are non-invasive, require little to no downtime, and can be customised for the face, body.

The platform has 4 modes:

  • Exion Face – AI-controlled radiofrequency (RF) with targeted ultrasound to firm, smooth, and tighten skin on the face, neck, and décolletage.
  • Exion Body – Deep-penetrating RF + ultrasound to tighten and smooth skin on areas such as the abdomen, thighs, arms, and knees.
  • Exion Fractional RF – Comfortable, deep-reaching microneedling with RF to improve wrinkles, scars, pores, and texture.
  • Exion Clear RF – A needling alternative which combines monopolar radiofrequency with ultrasound to target acne-prone skin, helping reduce inflammation, clear breakouts, and improve overall skin texture.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who may consider Exion?

Exion may be considered for patients seeking a non-surgical option for skin firmness or volume concerns. Suitability is assessed during consultation, taking into account general health and whether the skin in the treatment area is clear of active conditions. This treatment is not recommended for patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

For safety and results, Exion treatments are not suitable for:

  • Individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Those with active skin infections, rashes, or open wounds in the treatment area.
  • Patients with pacemakers, defibrillators, or certain metal implants in or near the treatment area.
  • People with uncontrolled medical conditions such as diabetes or autoimmune disorders affecting healing.
  • Individuals with a history of skin cancer in the treatment area (unless cleared by a medical practitioner).
  • Those taking certain medications that increase photosensitivity or impair healing (must be discussed at consultation).
  • Anyone with unrealistic expectations for non-surgical results.

All patients should undergo a full consultation and medical history review to confirm treatment suitability.

What areas may Exion be used for?

Exion may be used on the face and neck to address visible changes such as fine lines or skin laxity. It may also be used on other areas of the body, such as the abdomen, breasts, upper arms, and inner thighs. Suitability will be determined during a consultation.

How is the treatment carried out?

The practitioner uses the Exion device to apply energy to the skin. Patients may feel warmth or mild sensitivity during the procedure, though this varies. The number of sessions is discussed during consultation and depends on factors such as treatment goals and how the skin responds.

Are there risks or complications associated with Exion treatments?

As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks. These may include:

  • Erythema (redness) and mild swelling in the treated area
  • Heating sensation during or just following the treatment
  • Dry skin in the treated area during the first 12 post-treatment hours.
  • Temporary damage to natural skin texture (crust, blister, and burn)
  • Itching and irritation in the treated area,
  • Pigmentation change, including hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

These risks are discussed in detail during consultation to support informed decision-making.
