emsculpt neo - Allure Cosmetic Clinic

Emsculpt Neo is a body treatment developed by BTL Aesthetics that combines high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy and radiofrequency (RF) technology. While not a weight-loss treatment, this procedure may be used to stimulate targeted muscle groups. It works by applying controlled heating to the area, and suitability as well as potential outcomes will be discussed during a consultation.

How Does Emsculpt Neo Work?

During each session, applicators are positioned on the selected treatment area. These applicators deliver HIFEM and RF energy at the same time. The HIFEM component causes repeated muscle contractions, while the RF component warms the tissue in the area being treated. These responses may contribute to changes in muscle activity and tissue temperature, which are part of the body’s natural physiological processes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Who is suitable for Emsculpt Neo?

Emsculpt Neo may be considered for patients seeking to address localised changes in muscle activity and tissue composition. It is not a weight loss treatment. Suitability depends on factors such as general health, medical history, and the presence of medical devices. Patients with electronic implants (such as pacemakers) or metal implants in the treatment area are not suitable candidates. The procedure is also not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

What should I expect during the treatment?

Emsculpt Neo sessions generally take around 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Applicators are positioned on the treatment area to deliver high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) and radiofrequency (RF) energy. Patients may experience muscle contractions and a warming sensation during the session. These effects are discussed during consultation to help patients understand what may occur.

Is there any preparation required?

Patients are encouraged to remain well hydrated prior to the session. Jewellery, metallic items, and clothing from the treatment area should be removed to allow proper placement of applicators.

What is the recovery like after Emsculpt Neo?

Recovery can be different for each patient. Some patients may feel tired muscles or slight soreness, like after exercise. Patients should follow any aftercare advice and contact the clinic if they have any concerns.

Will I need multiple sessions?

Most patients require a series of treatments depending on their goals. A course of four treatments is recommended to the target area, with maintenance treatments recommended for continued benefits. The number of sessions is discussed during the consultation.

Are there risks or complications associated with Emsculpt Neo?

As with any medical procedure, there are potential risks. These may include:

  • Temporary muscle soreness
  • Mild redness or warmth in the treated area
  • Discomfort during treatment
  • Skin irritation
  • Rarely, burns or adverse tissue effects due to incorrect application
